This was such a fun site to design! I was given illustrations of robots and gears and asked to make a clean, fun looking site that would appeal to both kids and parents. I mixed the sketches into a clean layout with “techie” graphics. I also spiced up the header with rotating gears using CSS animation (only supported in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox 5 or higher). I also built a custom registration form that stores user input in a database for the site owner.

This is a site that I designed and built for Chariot Creative. The client had an outdated site and wanted something clean and modern. I used the Nivo Slider to create the slideshow on the homepage. Along with some custom scripts I was able to connect the slideshow to the navigation on the side so that rolling over a link would bring up the appropriate image and pause the slideshow.

This is a site that I designed for Chariot Creatvie. It is running on a content management system made for managing auction websites called SimpleAuctionSite. This was a redesign of an existing site. The client wanted a fresh look but something simple. I modernized the existing site and created a cleaner and more consistent layout.

Durham People’s Alliance

The Durham People’s Alliance is a non-profit in Durham NC dedicated to providing citizen’s in Durham information about important issues in the city. They wanted to revamp their website with a modern, progressive look, and an easy to use content management system to better organize their site. I provided both the design and development of the site. I built the site on WordPress so that they can easily publish news content and manage their informational pages.

This is an incomplete site that I designed for a local hunting supplies dealer using the Volusion e-commerce platform. I’ve posted a static version of the homepage here just as an example of my design work. All of the links point to the non-working site, but the homepage shows the overall style that I developed. I had fun creating a grungy look, which is a little different than my typical style. The Volusion platform makes it difficult to create a completely customized design, so I used a ton of CSS3 selectors to gain access to elements of the site that I would not have otherwise been able to style. It was a lot of work but paid off in the end. I also did most of the product photography for the site. You can see some of the photos I took below.

This is a site that I developed for Bark Communications. Bark did the design and I built the site using WordPress so that the staff at Bark could easily manage the site for their client on their own. The site has an integrated blog, and several social media feeds. For the store portion of the site I used Volusion, which is a robust hosted e-commerce solution. Volusion allows limited access to their template system, so I was able to modify the html and CSS to match the look of the main website as closely as possible.
